KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle has been elected unopposed as the open Vice-Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

Wagle was elected unopposed after Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, another aspirant for the post, withdrew his candidacy.

Shrestha stated that he withdrew his candidacy to support Wagle’s unanimous election, prioritizing consensus within the party.

Shrestha is currently the Minister for Energy. Earlier, Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal also withdrew his candidacy for the post of General Secretary.
