KATHMANDU: Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has officially deferred the House of Representatives meeting until Saturday at 11:00 AM, citing the unavailability of lawmakers due to the ongoing general convention of ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party.

The decision, announced via a formal notice today, marks the latest delay for a parliamentary session that was originally scheduled for Thursday and then moved to 1:00 PM today.

The bottleneck is the ongoing general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Bharatpur, Chitwan, which began on June 21 and has run longer than expected.

Because the RSP commands a staggering 182 seats out of the 275 total seats in the House, parliament cannot effectively function until their convention concludes.
