KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has facilitated the recovery and collection of over Rs 869.81 million in state revenue through enforcement actions, seizures, and legal executions during the period of mid-May to mid-June 2026.
According to police headquarters, the amount was deposited into the state treasury through coordinated operations targeting various forms of economic and criminal activities.
The largest share of the collection came from customs evasion and smuggling cases, which contributed Rs 413.73 million. Revenue from the execution of court verdicts and fines stood at Rs 234.44 million, while traffic rule violations generated Rs 120.91 million across the country.
Seizures from undisclosed cash sources accounted for Rs 35.93 million. Confiscation of illegal gold and silver contributed Rs 20.07 million, while recovery from counterfeit and illegal currency stood at Rs 14.03 million.
Other contributions included Rs 12.27 million from illegal timber seizures, Rs 8.18 million from illegal riverbed material extraction, Rs 5.42 million from wildlife and livestock smuggling, and Rs 4.79 million from illegal Hundi transactions.
The Nepal Police said it has intensified action against economic crimes, smuggling, and revenue leakage, in line with its motto “Truth, Service, and Security,” to support national revenue collection and financial discipline.
