KATHMANDU: Nepali Communist Party coordinator and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has accused the government of working to dismantle the Constitution and strip away the rights of women, Dalits, and indigenous communities.
Speaking at a party event in Kathmandu, Prachanda warned that the government is steering the country away from good governance and toward authoritarianism, calling on the public to rise up in protest.
Taking personal accountability for the political shift, he admitted that his party made a grave mistake by abandoning its core ideology and class struggle for short-term political gains during his three terms as Prime Minister.
He vowed that the opposition would now strongly confront the government’s actions in parliament.
