KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has called for public complaints against the three individuals recommended for the positions of Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners of the Election Commission.

Issuing a public notice, the committee has urged anyone with concrete grounds, evidence, or information showing why the individuals recommended by the Constitutional Council are unsuitable for appointment to file a complaint within 10 days.

According to the notice, complaints backed by evidence can be submitted in either Nepali or English against Man Bahadur Karki (Morang), who has been recommended for Chief Election Commissioner, as well as Dr. Rajiv Subba (Kathmandu) and Guru Prasad Wagle (Okhaldhunga), who have been recommended for Election Commissioners.

Complaints must explicitly include the complainant’s name, surname, address, phone number, and district.

The committee stated that copies of supporting documents and evidence must also be attached when submitting the complaint.

According to the committee, complaints can be handed over directly to the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee in Singha Durbar or sent through any District Administration Office without any fees.

The committee noted that this notice was first published on July 10. A meeting of the Constitutional Council chaired by Prime Minister Balendra Shah on July 3 had decided to recommend them for the appointments.
