KALIKOT: The Karnali Highway has fully reopened after a landslide at Gagane Khola in Shubhakalika Rural Municipality-1, Kalikot, was cleared on Saturday morning.

The highway was completely blocked at around 5:20 AM due to a landslide carrying rocks, mud, and debris, leaving vehicles and passengers stranded.

According to the District Police Office, Kalikot, the road was cleared through coordinated efforts between the Road Division, security agencies, and local authorities, allowing traffic to resume at 11:50 AM.

Authorities have cautioned that the risk of landslides remains high along the Karnali Highway during the monsoon season.

Drivers and passengers are urged to check road conditions before traveling and to exercise high alertness.
