NEPALGUNJ: Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City has endorsed a budget of Rs 1.76 billion for the upcoming fiscal year, 2026/27.
The 19th Municipal Assembly held on Saturday passed the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
The gathering chaired by Mayor Prashant Bista approved proposals related to beautification of the Bagishwari Temple area, Khadeshwor Junge Mahadev Temple, 108-foot-tall Hanuman statue, construction of commercial buildings, entrance to Jamunaha checkpoint and construction of a city bus park.
As per the budget, the detailed project report (DPR) of the Nepalgunj Ring Road will be concluded soon and its implementation process forwarded accordingly.
Sustainable development of the city, growth in revenue generation, improvement in service delivery, conservation of lakes and parks, promotion of greenery and effective monitoring of the projects are among the top priorities of the budget.
Nepalgunj, the part of Banke district, is among four sub-metropolitan cities out of 109 local governments in Lumbini Province.
