JANAKPURDHAM: The parliamentary leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (UML) and Nepali Communist Party (NCP) have decided to continue their three-party coalition government in Madhesh Province.

During a joint meeting, leaders agreed to sustain the current administration led by Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav (NC), alongside UML parliamentary leader Saroj Kumar Yadav and NCP leader/Finance Minister Yuwaraj Bhattarai.

Finance Minister Bhattarai explained that despite the collapse of NC-UML cooperation in other provinces, the alliance in Madhesh will remain intact.

He noted that if UML were to exit, the government would be forced to rely on Madhesh-centric parties to survive. To prevent this instability, the parties chose to maintain the current power-sharing equation.

UML leader Saroj Kumar Yadav emphasized that the province’s political situation is unique compared to the rest of the country.

Highlighting their recent success in passing the provincial budget together, he stated that the three parties will remain united to focus entirely on the stability, prosperity and development of Madhesh Province.
