KATHMANDU: The government’s negotiating team and the agitating loan shark victims are preparing to officially sign a written agreement today, transitioning a previous verbal understanding into a formal pact.
To finalize the deal, a decisive round of last-stage talks has commenced at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar. This crucial meeting follows intensive, high-level deliberations held between both parties yesterday, which laid the necessary groundwork and consensus for today’s final signing.
The government’s talks team is being led by Pushkar Sapkota, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
The team also includes Kali Prasad Parajuli, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Yogendra Prasad Dulal, Director General of the Department of Land Reform and Management, as members.
This highly anticipated agreement is expected to provide a definitive resolution to the long-standing protest movement of the loan shark victims, who have been demonstrating across the country to demand justice.
