KATHMANDU: A five-member Chinese delegation led by Chen Guanghao, director general of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, met officials of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) on Thursday, today, to discuss strengthening tourism cooperation between the two sides.
During the meeting, Chen highlighted the potential to promote cultural, adventure, and Buddhist tourism through closer collaboration to deepen mutual understanding, expand tourism exchanges, and support sustainable growth of the tourism industry in both countries.
Acting NTB Chief Executive Officer Hikmat Singh Ayer said Nepal could become an attractive destination for travelers from China’s Sichuan Province because of its close proximity.
Ayer also proposed organizing familiarization (FAM) tours for Chinese celebrities, media personnel, and bloggers to showcase Nepal’s tourism offerings and encourage more Chinese visitors.
