KATHMANDU: Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ stated that the country has achieved significant progress in economic, social, and human development since transitioning into a federal democratic republic.

Speaking at an event organized by the Pushpalal Memorial Foundation in Kirtipur to mark the 48th Memorial Day of Pushpalal Shrestha, the founder of the Communist Party of Nepal, Prachanda stressed that progressive forces must unite to safeguard the achievements of the republic.

Prachanda emphasized the need to defend the rights and achievements secured by oppressed classes and communities.

“Efforts are underway to mobilize the communist movement, bring republican forces onto a common front, and prioritize the defense and strengthening of national independence,” he said.

On the occasion, NCP Co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal highlighted the importance of honoring national figures of Nepal’s left-democratic movement, including Pushpalal Shrestha, BP Koirala, Madan Bhandari, Tulsilal Amatya, Ganesh Man Singh and Krishna Prasad Bhattarai.
