APF personnel dies after electric shock in Jhapa

BHADRAPUR: An Armed Police Force (APF) personnel deployed at the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 38 Reserve Battalion in Padajungi, Kamal Rural Municipality-5, Jhapa, died on Thursday after suffering an electric shock.

Senior Superintendent of Armed Police Force (SSP) Mahesh KC, Information Officer for the APF No. 1 Baraha Brigade Headquarters in Koshi Province, confirmed that Constable Sudim Khatri passed away while repairing an internal power line at the battalion premises.

Khatri, 30, a resident of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-13, Sunsari, was electrocuted at around 5:00 PM on Thursday while carrying out electrical repairs.

He sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to AMDA Hospital in Damak for treatment, where attending physicians declared him brought dead.

According to SSP KC, the deceased officer was certified in electrical repairs, having completed technical training through the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).

The Armed Police Force stated that an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
