KARNALI: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Surkhet branch has clarified that there is no shortage of Liquefied Petroleum (LP) gas in Birendranagar.

According to the corporation, required quantities of LP gas are being imported regularly from India.

Deepak Kumar Ghimire, head of the NOC Surkhet office, stated that recent market distribution issues stemmed from panic buying, as consumers started hoarding more gas cylinders than necessary due to psychological fears of a potential shortage.

To ensure convenience for consumers, the corporation has implemented a “One Person, One Cylinder” rule. Under this arrangement, 2,922 14.2-kg cylinders of various LP gas brands will be distributed through authorized dealers at the rate of Rs 2,060 per cylinder, Ghimire informed.

Additionally, the corporation stated that 320 cylinders of Nepal Gas will be distributed through New Janaki Trade & Suppliers located in the Birendranagar Industrial Area.

The Nepal Oil Corporation has requested consumers to purchase gas only from authorized dealers and refrain from hoarding unnecessarily. It has also urged the public to immediately notify relevant authorities if dealers charge above the fixed price, refuse to sell gas despite having stock, or engage in unauthorized hoarding.
