KATHMANDU: Nepali Taekwondo athlete Vaibhavi Sapkota secured two medals—a gold and a silver—for Nepal at the Hainan Cup International Invitational Taekwondo Championship held in Haikou City, Hainan Province, China.

She claimed the gold medal in the Poomsae category after defeating opponents from Thailand and China in the final round.

Additionally, she won the silver medal in the Kyorugi category following a closely contested final match against an athlete from Thailand.

The tournament featured competitors from numerous countries, including South Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
