Two people were killed when a tipper hit two motorcycles at Indrayani of Sankhu in Shankharapur Municipality in Kathmandu on Wednesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Paban Lal Shrestha, a former reporter of Rastriya Samachar Samiti, and one Hari Khadka. Punam Shrestha was injured in the head-on collision. She was receiving treatment at Grande International Hospital in Dhapasi, said Superintendent of Police Sitaram Rijal.

Shrestha, 50, of Shankharapur Municipality-7 died in Nepal Medical College, Attarkhel, and Khadka, 22, of the municipality-9 in Shankharapur Hospital, Sankhu, he said. One of the motorcycles that met with the accident is with a registration number place (Ba 94 Pa 4498), and another (Ba 82 Pa 8357).

The police arrested the absconding driver of the ill-fated tipper Dinesh Tamang from Sindhupalchok district on the same night. Tamang has been brought to Kathmandu, and the Police Circle, Gaushala has launched investigations, he said.
