KATHMANDU: Dr Krishna Hari Budhathoki, a Member of Parliament elected from Ramechhap, has been appointed as the Chair of the Finance Committee under the House of Representatives.

The decision was made during a parliamentary party meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which selected Budhathoki to lead the committee.

Holding a PhD in Economics, Budhathoki has been actively involved in economic policy research for the past two decades. Within the party, he is recognized as a knowledgeable and capable figure in economic affairs.

Following senior economist and party leader Dr Swarnim Waglé, who is also the current finance minister, Budhathoki is regarded as a leading economic policymaker of the next generation within the party.
