NEPSE drops by double digits to 2735.14 points, turnover reaches Rs 4.084 billion

KATHMANDU: On the first trading day of the week today (Monday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has decreased by double digits. Starting the week with a decline, NEPSE’s turnover amount has also gone downhill compared to the previous trading day.

The NEPSE decreased by 20.27 points on Monday. Declining by 0.73 percent today compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE stopped at 2735.14 points.

On this day, the sensitive index also decreased by 2.62 points and stopped at 469.37 points. On a percentage basis, this is 0.55 percent lower compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index decreased by 0.66 percent, and the sensitive float index decreased by 0.56 percent.

In the stock market on Monday, at least 9,236,677 unit shares were bought and sold through 56,845 transactions of 356 companies. According to this, a turnover of Rs 4.084 billion took place on Monday. This is lower compared to the previous trading day.

In the stock market today, the share prices of only 43 companies increased. While the share prices of 321 companies went downhill, the share prices of 6 companies remained stable. Out of 13 groups traded on NEPSE today (Monday), only the index of the Finance group increased, while the indices of the remaining 12 groups turned completely red.

According to this, on Monday, the index of the Commercial Bank group decreased by 0.45 percent and the Development Bank group by 1.03 percent. The index of the finance group, however, increased by 0.26 percent.

Similarly, the sub-index of the Hotel and Tourism group decreased by 0.71 percent, Hydropower by 0.95 percent, Investment by 0.38 percent, Life Insurance by 0.54 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 0.44 percent, Microfinance by 0.52 percent, Mutual Fund by 0.59 percent, Non-Life Insurance by 0.83 percent, Others by 1.50 percent, and the Trading group by 1.77 percent.

On NEPSE on Monday, while the investors of Kalinchoch Hydropower earned 14.99 percent, the investors of Upakar Microfinance lost 7.14 percent in share price.

On the basis of turnover amount, Central Finance Company remained in the leading position today. On Monday, a turnover of Rs 204.6 million took place for this company.

Likewise, on the basis of the number of traded shares, Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company remained ahead today. On Monday, at least 341,678 unit shares of this company were traded. The final trading price of Ankhu Khola, meanwhile, was maintained at Rs 404 per unit share.
