NEPSE increases by 27.49 points with Rs 3.286 billion turnover

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) closed higher today on Friday, the fifth and final trading day of the week.

On this day, the NEPSE increased by 27.49 points. Rising by 1.01 percent compared to the previous trading day, the NEPSE settled at 2745.65 points. The sensitive index also rose by 3.24 points today, closing at 467.33 points. On a percentage basis, this is 0.69 percent higher than the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index increased by 1.02 percent, and the sensitive float index increased by 0.79 percent.

In the stock market on Friday, at least 7,478,562 shares of 335 companies were bought and sold through 53,014 transactions. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 3.286 billion was recorded on Friday.

On Thursday, however, a turnover of Rs 2.931 billion was recorded in the NEPSE. On Wednesday, a turnover of Rs 3.197 billion was recorded, while on Tuesday, a turnover of Rs 3.439 billion was recorded in the NEPSE. Likewise, the NEPSE remained closed on Monday due to a public holiday.

The share prices of 235 companies rose in the stock market today. While the share prices of 26 companies declined, the share prices of eight companies remained stable. Out of the 13 groups traded in the NEPSE today, the sub-indices of all groups increased, creating a “greenery” effect.

Accordingly, on Friday, the index of the Commercial Bank group increased by 0.67 percent, the Development Bank by 0.93 percent, Finance by 1.87 percent, Hotel and Tourism by 1.48 percent, Hydropower by 1.71 percent, Investment by 1.12 percent, and the Life Insurance group index by 0.64 percent.

Similarly, the sub-indices of Manufacturing and Processing increased by 1.40 percent, Microfinance by 1.16 percent, Mutual Funds by 0.55 percent, Non-Life Insurance by 1.52 percent, Others by 1.14 percent, and the Trading group by 0.00 percent.

Investors of Trishuli Jal Vidhyut Company earned 10 percent in the NEPSE on Friday. Meanwhile, investors of Swabalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha lost 6.54 percent in share price.

Hotel Forest Inn stood at the forefront in terms of transaction amount. A turnover of Rs 138.6 million was recorded for Hotel Forest Inn on Friday.

Likewise, Ridi Power Company remained ahead today in terms of the number of shares traded. On Friday, at least 294,378 shares of this company were bought and sold. Its final trading price was maintained at Rs 346 per share.
