KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), on the fourth trading day of the week today, Thursday, increased by a single digit. Experiencing fluctuations throughout the day, NEPSE ultimately closed with a rise of 8.78 points. The turnover amount on NEPSE also increased compared to the previous day.
NEPSE had fallen for all five trading days of the previous week. Yesterday, Wednesday, NEPSE had increased by 44.59 points. It had dropped by 24.63 points on Tuesday, while it fell by 16.54 points on Monday as well. Increasing by 0.33 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE stopped at 2661.71 points today.
On this day, the Sensitive Index also increased by 3.89 points and closed at 462.47 points. In terms of percentage, this is an increase of 0.85 percent compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the Float Index decreased by 0.54 percent, and the Sensitive Float Index went down by 0.89 percent.
In the stock market on Thursday, at least 8,964,223 shares of 359 companies were bought and sold 43,131 times. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 4.117 billion was recorded on Thursday. On Wednesday, a turnover of Rs 3.856 billion was registered. Similarly, a turnover of Rs 3.258 billion was recorded on Tuesday, whereas a turnover of Rs 2.671 billion was recorded on Monday.

The share prices of 108 companies increased in the stock market today. While the share prices of 152 companies declined, the share prices of 13 companies remained stable. Out of the 13 sub-indices traded on NEPSE today, Thursday, the indicators of five groups increased while the indicators of the remaining eight groups decreased.
Accordingly, the indicator of the Commercial Bank group increased by 2.04 percent on NEPSE on Thursday. While the indicator of the Development Bank group decreased by 0.11 percent, the indicator of the Finance group increased by 0.28 percent.
Similarly, while the indicators of hotels and tourism decreased by 0.13 percent, hydropower by 0.26 percent, and the investment group by 0.03 percent, the indicator of the life insurance group increased by 0.16 percent. While the indicator of the Manufacturing and Processing group decreased by 0.86 percent, the indicators of Microfinance increased by 0.05 percent and the Mutual Fund group went up by 0.06 percent.
Likewise, the sub-indices of non-life insurance decreased by 0.34 percent, others by 0.20 percent, and the trading group by 0.50 percent.
On Thursday, investors of Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower Company and Kalanga Hydropower Company earned the highest with a gain of 15 percent on NEPSE. That is, a positive circuit was triggered in the share prices of Upper Lohore Khola and Kalanga. Investors of NIC Asia Bank’s debenture lost 10.60 percent of their share value.
In terms of turnover amount, Laxmi Sunrise Bank stood at the forefront today. A turnover of Rs 413.2 million was recorded for this bank on Thursday.
Similarly, Laxmi Sunrise Bank itself led in terms of the number of shares traded today. A total of 1,917,570 shares of this bank were traded on Thursday. Its final trading price for today stood at Rs 222 per share.
