KATHMANDU: In a major administrative shake-up, the Cabinet approved the transfer of eight Additional Inspectors General (AIGs) of the Nepal Police during its meeting on Thursday.

Government Spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel announced that the meeting also finalized several high-level leadership appointments, naming Hikmat Bahadur Rawal as General Manager of Gorkhapatra Sansthan, Devraj Dhungana as Executive Director of the Security Printing Center and Dharmaraj Khadka to lead the Specialized Structure Operation Committee.

Alongside the personnel changes, the Cabinet endorsed key national frameworks, including the National Integrity Policy, the National Advertisement Policy and amendments to both education and bonded labor regulations.

On pressing public issues, Minister Pokharel stated that local bodies have been directed to penalize schools charging illegal annual admission fees, and actions are underway to reclaim encroached Tribhuvan University land.

Addressing the recent FIFA suspension of the All-Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the Minister blamed past political interference and corruption, confirming that an investigative committee has been formed to resolve the crisis.
