KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) increased by 8.78 points on Tuesday (today), the second trading day of the week.

The NEPSE index, which rose by 0.32 percent compared to the previous trading day, settled at 2,712.86 points. On this day, the Sensitive Index also rose by 1.26 points to stop at 462.32 points. In terms of percentage, this is 0.27 percent higher than the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index increased by 0.33 percent, and the sensitive float index rose by 0.30 percent.

In the share market today, at least 7,734,012 shares were bought and sold through 62,025 transactions involving 335 companies. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 3.439 billion was recorded on Tuesday.

The share prices of 162 companies increased in the share market today. While the share prices of 90 companies headed downward, the share prices of 16 companies remained stable. Out of the 13 (Terha) sectors traded on NEPSE today, the sub-indices of seven sectors increased, while the sub-indices of the remaining six sectors decreased.

According to this, the Commercial Bank group’s index rose by 0.43 percent on Tuesday. The sub-indices of the Development Bank fell by 0.04 percent, Finance by 0.12 percent, and the Hotel and Tourism group by 0.05 percent. The sub-indices of Hydropower rose by 1.02 (Ek Dashamlav Shoonya Dui) percent, Investment by 0.18 percent, Life Insurance by 0.10 percent, and the Manufacturing and Processing group by 0.63 percent. While microfinance decreased by 0.21 percent, the Mutual Fund group increased by 0.44 percent.

The Non-Life Insurance group index rose by 0.12 percent, while the index for the Others group increased by 0.08 percent. The sub-index of the trading group, however, decreased by 0.29 percent.

On Tuesday, investors of Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower Company earned 11.16 percent. Similarly, investors of Forward Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha lost 9.31 percent in share value.

In terms of turnover amount, Solu Hydropower stood at the top. Today, Solu saw a turnover of Rs 235.7 million.

Similarly, in terms of the number of shares traded, National Hydropower Company remained in the lead. On Tuesday, at least 404,133 shares of this company were bought and sold. Its final trading price was maintained at Rs 282 per share.
