NEPSE increases nominally with Rs 3.637 billion turnover today

KATHMANDU: On the third trading day of the week today (Wednesday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has increased by a nominal point. NEPSE, which remained volatile throughout the day, ultimately increased by 0.08 points. The trading volume of NEPSE has also decreased compared to the previous day.

The NEPSE on Wednesday increased by 0.08 points. On Tuesday, it had decreased by 6.31 points, while on Monday, it had decreased by 12.26 points. Increasing by 0.00 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE stopped at 2705.53 points today.

On today’s day, the Sensitive Index, however, decreased by 0.20 points and stopped at 464.43 points. On a percentage basis, this is 0.04 percent less compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index increased by 0.05 percent, and the sensitive float index increased by 0.05 percent.

In the stock market on Wednesday, at least 8,375,471 shares were bought and sold in 44,542 transactions of 352 companies. According to this, a turnover of Rs 3.637 billion took place on Wednesday. On Tuesday, a turnover of Rs 4.047 billion had taken place. On Monday, however, a turnover of Rs 4.412 billion had taken place.

In the stock market today, the share prices of 125 companies increased. While the share prices of 132 companies went downwards, the share prices of 14 companies remained stable. Out of the 13 groups traded in NEPSE today (Wednesday), the indices of five groups increased, while the indices of eight groups decreased.

According to this, on Wednesday (mentioned as Tuesday in the text), the index of the Commercial Bank group decreased by 0.18 percent. The indices of the development bank increased by 0.00 percent and the finance group by 0.14 percent. Similarly, while the index of the Hotels and Tourism group decreased by 0.64 percent, the indices of Hydro Power increased by 0.30 percent and the Investment group by 0.53 percent. Likewise, while the index of the life insurance group decreased by 0.07 percent, the index of the manufacturing and processing group increased by 0.51 percent.

In NEPSE on Wednesday, the sub-indices of microfinance decreased by 0.04 percent, mutual funds by 0.05 percent, non-life insurance by 0.55 percent, others by 0.08 percent, and the trading group by 0.60 percent.

In NEPSE on Wednesday as well, the investors of Sopan Pharmaceuticals earned the most by 14.99 percent. Likewise, on Tuesday, the investors of Sopan had earned 15 percent, while on Monday, they had earned 14.99 percent. Similarly, the investors of NMB Debenture lost 8.64 percent in share prices.

On the basis of trading volume, NRN Infrastructure and Development remained at the forefront today. On Wednesday, its turnover of Rs 211.7 million took place.

Similarly, on the basis of the number of traded shares, Laxmi Sunrise Bank stayed ahead today. On Wednesday, at least 437,436 shares of its stock were traded. Its final trading price today, however, was maintained at Rs 218 per share.
