KATHMANDU: Police have detained 35 people accused of illegally soliciting passengers and charging inflated fares in the Kalimati and Balkhu areas.

The arrests were made during a special operation conducted by the Valley Traffic Police Office on Wednesday morning.

According to police, the individuals were operating around bus parks and ticket counters, targeting passengers traveling to destinations outside the Kathmandu Valley and causing inconvenience to commuters.

Authorities said the detainees will be handed over to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, for further investigation and legal action.
