KATHMANDU: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the prices of petroleum products. Just 11 days after the last adjustment, NOC has raised the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene by Rs 15 per liter, effective from midnight today. The corporation had previously revised prices on March 15.

According to the new rates, petrol has been fixed at Rs 184.50 per liter in the first category, Rs 186 in the second category, and Rs 187 in the third category. Similarly, diesel and kerosene have been priced at Rs 164.50 per liter in the first category, Rs 166 in the second category, and Rs 167 in the third category. With the latest revision, the price of petrol in Kathmandu has reached Rs 187 per liter.

The corporation has classified Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalubari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj under the first category; Surkhet and Dang under the second category; and Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal depots under the third category.

The corporation stated that the price hike was necessary due to a continuous rise in petroleum prices in the international market. It said that between March 1 and 24, the purchase price of petrol increased by Rs 76 per liter and diesel by Rs 143 per liter.
