KATHMANDU: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of the Nepal Police in Koteshwor has arrested four individuals in separate operations, including two caught with contraband drugs and two absconding defendants who had previously escaped law enforcement custody.
A police team deployed from the NCB arrested two individuals from Gokarneshwor Municipality-5, Kathmandu.
The police confiscated 87 grams of brown heroin (brown sugar), two digital weighing scales, and cash amounting to Rs 331,000 from their possession. The arrested individuals have been identified as 22-year-old Mira Gurung, a resident of Bardaghat Municipality-15, Nawalparasi, and 36-year-old Ravi Kumar Sah, a resident of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-7, Dhanusha. The NCB confirmed that further investigation into both suspects is currently underway.
In a separate crack-down, the NCB apprehended two fugitive defendants who had successfully escaped from police custody and prison during past protests. The first fugitive, 36-year-old Tanka Bahadur Khadka of Pathari Sanischare Municipality-9, Morang, was wanted in an ongoing narcotics case being investigated by the bureau. The second fugitive, 47-year-old Shashi Shankar Kapar of Sabaila Municipality-9, Dhanusha, was being sought as an absconding defendant in a homicide case.
