KAVRE: German Ambassador Udo Volz, accompanied by the German Development Cooperation (GDC), visited EcoHimal Nepal’s Agroforestry Resource Center (ARC) in Patlekhet, Kavre, to observe initiatives promoting sustainable agriculture and climate resilience.
During the visit, the delegation learned about the center’s Gurukul-inspired approach to agricultural learning, which integrates indigenous knowledge with sustainable farming practices. According to the German Embassy, the initiative encourages farmers to strengthen climate resilience by building on time-tested, self-reliant methods.
The embassy said EcoHimal Nepal, which has worked primarily in Nepal’s mountainous and hilly regions since 2009, combines indigenous knowledge with practical and sustainable solutions for community-based development.
The organization receives support from German partners, including the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Help Alliance, Nepal Hilfe Bonn e.V., Kindermissionswerk Aachen, Apotheker Ohne Grenzen Deutschland, among others.
