US special envoy Gor meets RSP chair Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor, held a meeting with Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane on Saturday in Kathmandu.

During the meeting, discussions focused on issues of mutual interest between Nepal and the United States.

According to Gor, the talks particularly emphasized strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.

Taking to social media platform X, Gor said Nepal’s new government has a strong public mandate for change and described its announced reforms as “very promising.” He also expressed readiness to work closely in the coming days.

“Nepal’s new government has an incredible mandate for change, and their announced reforms have been very promising. We are looking forward to working closely ahead,” he wrote.

Gor, who arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday evening, has also met with Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle and Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal during his visit.
