KATHMANDU: The Lord of the Drinks (LOD) club, located in Thamel, has secured the 40th position among the world’s best DJ clubs for 2026. The ranking was published in the ‘Top 100 Clubs’ list by the prestigious UK-based magazine, DJ Mag.
Every year, DJ Mag publishes a list of the best clubs following a competition between international-level venues. In this year’s competition, more than 500 clubs from around the world participated. Bhupen Kunwar, the director of the LOD club, described this achievement as a matter of pride for the country.
“This recognition for LOD is not limited only to the club’s success; it has also provided an opportunity to introduce Nepal to the global music and entertainment industry,” he said. According to him, “Reaching the 40th position in the top hundred clubs list is a remarkable achievement for nightlife, party lifestyle, and tourism promotion. It will attract international tourists and club lovers toward Nepal (Nepal).”

Kunwar mentioned that teamwork, creativity, and service quality are the primary reasons for the club’s continuous development and upgrades. “This success has made LOD more responsible. In the coming days, we aim to expand the club further according to international standards,” he clarified. He added that this achievement, which is directly related to the tourism business, has highlighted the potential of the nocturnal entertainment sector in Nepal.
“When the number of tourists visiting Nepal for entertainment increases, it will have a positive impact on the overall tourism industry,” he noted. According to Kunwar, this has provided them with additional responsibility to make clubbing life organized and civilized. The LOD club was ranked 44th among the world’s best clubs in 2025. Previously, it ranked 52nd in 2022, 49th in 2023, and 50th in 2024.
