BANEPA: Thousands of people have been left homeless after the government carried out demolition drives in various parts of the Kathmandu Valley.

Some of the displaced people have managed to arrange their own accommodation elsewhere, while others have been placed in government-managed holding centres.

Following evictions from settlements across the valley, 110 people were taken to the training centre of the Nepal Red Cross Society in Banepa on May 7.

The group includes people of different age groups and backgrounds.

Among those staying at the centre are a nine-day postpartum mother, children under 18, and elderly people—altogether around 16 individuals in vulnerable conditions.
