KATHMANDU: Lawyers staged a daytime lantern protest against the refusal of the Supreme Court of Nepal administration to register writ petitions and applications.

Legal professionals gathered at the premises of the Nepal Bar Association to demonstrate. The Bar Association said the protest was aimed at seeking justice, fairness, and clean legal procedures.

The association claimed that the court administration’s actions had undermined citizens’ constitutional right to justice and mocked the rule of law. Lawyers also warned that if the Supreme Court administration does not reverse its decision and simplify the registration process, they will intensify their protest movement.
