WASHINGTON: Iran has said it is still reviewing a US proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict, amid reports that Washington and Tehran are moving closer to a possible framework deal.

According to US media reports, the White House is considering a 14-point draft memorandum that could lay the groundwork for broader nuclear negotiations.

The reported plan includes suspending Iranian uranium enrichment, easing sanctions, and restoring free movement through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has not confirmed the details.

Iran’s foreign ministry said the proposal is being assessed and its response will be shared through Pakistani mediators.

A parliamentary official dismissed the US plan as a “wish list” and warned of a strong response if pressure continues.

US President Donald Trump said there had been “very good talks” with Iran and suggested a deal could be close, though he also repeated threats of intensified military action if negotiations fail.

Tensions remain high in the Gulf region, where access through the Strait of Hormuz—vital for global oil shipments—has been disrupted amid ongoing hostilities and limited ceasefire arrangements.
