WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that the “clock is ticking” as negotiations to end the war remain stalled.

“They better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them,” he wrote on Truth Social, adding that “TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE.”

The message came after Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, according to the Times of Israel, citing Netanyahu’s office.

Iranian media reported that the US has not made concrete concessions on Tehran’s latest proposals, warning this could lead to an “impasse” in talks.

Trump has previously warned that the ceasefire is on “massive life support” and called Iran’s demands “totally unacceptable,” while Iranian officials defended them as “responsible” and “generous.”

Reports from Iranian media said Tehran’s proposals included ending the war, lifting the US naval blockade, guarantees against future attacks, compensation for war damage, and sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian news agency Fars said the US responded with five conditions, including limiting Iran’s nuclear program to one site and transferring enriched uranium to the US.

Trump also suggested he could accept a 20-year suspension of Iran’s nuclear program, indicating a shift from his earlier demand for a complete shutdown.

Israel and the US launched major airstrikes on Iran on 28 February, while tensions continue over the Strait of Hormuz, through which around 20% of global oil and LNG passes.
