KATHMANDU: Nine people have lost their lives and 66 others suffered injuries in various road accidents across Nepal over a 24-hour period, according to official data released by Nepal Police.
The nationwide statistics highlight a worrisome trend in traffic safety, with Lumbini Province bearing the brunt of the fatalities, recording 4 deaths and 1 injury.
Bagmati Province followed with 2 fatalities and 8 injuries, while Koshi and Madhesh provinces recorded 1 fatality each alongside high injury counts of 22 and 21 individuals respectively.
Gandaki Province also registered a grim toll with 1 death and 1 injury. On a relatively positive note, no fatalities were reported in the Kathmandu Valley, though 12 people were injured. Similarly, Sudurpashchim Province reported zero deaths and 1 injury, while Karnali Province remained entirely clear with no casualties or injuries reported during this period.
