KATHMANDU: Actor Sagar Lamsal, popularly known as “Bale,” has been arrested in connection with a rape allegation, police said.

According to Ramesh Thapa, Senior Superintendent of Police and chief of the Kathmandu District Police Range, Lamsal was arrested from Baluwa Khani in Kapan, Budhanilkantha Municipality.

The allegation was made by a woman currently residing in the United States, who accused Lamsal of rape through a Facebook post on Friday. She claimed the incident took place in the United States.

Police said Lamsal has been taken into custody for investigation into the allegation.
