SUNSARI: A 42-year-old driver, Padam Rai of Rangeli, Morang, died after his pickup truck lost control and crashed on the Mahendra Highway in Koshi Rural Municipality-8, Sunasari, on Wednesday night.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka, the empty vehicle (Pra 1-02-002 Cha 4831) was heading toward Laukihi from Bhantabari when the accident occurred.

Rai succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Inaruwa District Hospital, while a 37-year-old passenger, Santosh Kumar Sah of Siraha, sustained minor injuries and is currently receiving medical care.

Police are investigating the incident.
