KATHMANDU: The government has appointed Dr. Narayan Kandel as the Attorney General, the chief legal advisor to the state. The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting held today.

As Attorney General, Dr Kandel will serve as the government’s principal legal advisor and lead the country’s public prosecution system. The office is responsible for overseeing government lawyers, directing the prosecution of criminal cases, and representing the state in all legal proceedings.
