KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has strongly defended the intentions of the Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah-led administration, asserting that any policy causing severe public distress will be rolled back immediately.
Speaking at a party gathering in Rautahat, Lamichhane addressed pressing grievances raised by local cadres and farmers who reported that recent regulations, including a stricter cross-border customs limit, have disrupted daily life and agricultural routines in the border region.
He reassured attendees that the government’s policies are highly flexible and aimed entirely at public welfare, promising that if any decision results in widespread “damage” rather than benefits, it will be corrected and reversed overnight.
Requesting patience from the public, the RSP Chief noted that visionary leadership often introduces structural changes that spark early controversy and implementation challenges but ultimately prove right in the long run.
He drew a sharp distinction between flawed execution and malicious intent, emphasizing that while problematic policies can easily be rectified, a corrupt intent cannot—and the current government’s motives remain entirely pure.
Lamichhane concluded by urging party members to hold the leadership accountable, promising that if ministries fail to act on formally registered public grievances, the RSP will step in directly as a guardian to deliver solutions.
