KATHMANDU: Vote counting is ongoing in various parts of the country under the House of Representatives (HoR) elections. According to the latest updates, four candidates from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have been elected. The party is also leading in the highest number of constituencies.
According to the Election Commission, four RSP candidates and one candidate from the Nepali Congress have secured victories in the latest results. From Kathmandu-1, RSP’s Ranju Neupane won with 15,455 votes. Likewise, RSP’s Shishir Khanal was elected from Kathmandu-6 with 27,711 votes.
Similarly, from Kathmandu-5, RSP’s Sasmita Pokharel won with 17,205 votes. Biraj Bhakta Shrestha of the RSP was elected from Kathmandu-8 with 24,592 votes. From Mustang, however, Yogesh Gauchan Thakali of the Nepali Congress emerged victorious with 3,307 votes.
According to the Election Commission, RSP candidates are currently leading in 102 constituencies. Candidates from the Nepali Congress are ahead in 11 constituencies, while 12 candidates from the CPN-UML are leading. Ten candidates from the Nepali Communist Party are also in the lead.
Four candidates from the Shram Sanskriti Party are leading, while one candidate each from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, the Pragtisheel Loktantrik Party, and independents are also maintaining the lead.
