KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives under the Federal Parliament is scheduled to sit for a legislative session today at 11:00 AM at Singha Durbar.

A major highlight of the day’s agenda includes a key security policy move, where Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, will speak on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

Minister Gautam will formally seek permission to introduce and table the “Bill to Revive the Previous Provisions of the Nepal Special Service Act, 2026.”

The session will also heavily focus on financial and cultural legislation.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle is slated to present a proposal to send the “Nepal Rastra Bank (Third Amendment) Bill, 2026” to its relevant committee for a detailed, clause-by-clause discussion.

Similarly, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Khadak Raj Paudel, will table a motion regarding the “Intangible Cultural Heritage (Protection) Bill, 2026.”

This bill, which initially originated in the upper house (National Assembly), is also being directed to its respective committee for a thorough legislative review.

Rounding out the day’s parliamentary business is a focus on international treaties and human rights. Minister for Youth, Labor, and Employment, Ramjee Yadav, will introduce a formal proposal asking the lower house to consider “Protocol No. 29 of 2014 to the International Labour Organization (ILO) Forced Labour Convention, 1930.”
