KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) chairman and former prime minister KP Sharma Oli has formally requested the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to correct Clause 177 of its report concerning the violent incidents during Gen Z protests on September 8 and 9, 2025.

UML leader Mahesh Bartaula met with NHRC Chairman Tapa Bahadur Magar to submit an application on behalf of party Chairman KP Sharma Oli, labeling the recommendation biased, unconstitutional, and contrary to international human rights principles.

The clause in question recommends creating laws to pursue legal action.

Additionally, Oli has demanded certified copies of the original probe report submitted by the Lily Thapa-led committee.
