KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has called a meeting of opposition parties.
Leader of the main opposition and parliamentary party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe has convened the meeting at 12 noon at the party’s parliamentary office in Singha Durbar.
Parliamentary party leaders from CPN (UML), Nepali Communist Party, Shram Sanskriti Party, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party have been invited to attend the meeting.
Earlier on Monday, the Cabinet had recommended to Ramchandra Paudel the issuance of two ordinances. The President’s Office has said the ordinances are currently under review.
Soon after, Angdembe criticized the move to bring ordinances by suspending the parliamentary session, calling it undemocratic, an act of political coercion, and an insult to the sovereign Parliament.
