KATHMANDU: A high-level German delegation paid a formal courtesy call on the Minister for Health and Food Safety, Nisha Mehta, today at her office.
The delegation was led by Barbara Schäfer, Head of the South Asia Division and Development at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, alongside the Ambassador of Germany to Nepal, Udo Volz.
High-ranking officials and representatives from key German development agencies operating in Nepal, including KfW Development Bank, GIZ, and PTB, were also present during the meeting.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted the long-standing and close bilateral relations between Nepal and Germany.
Minister Mehta expressed her appreciation for the German government’s continuous support, particularly in infrastructure development and various ongoing projects within Nepal’s health sector.
In response, the German delegation reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to further strengthening its partnership with Nepal.
The representatives pledged continued support and alignment with the current priorities of the Government of Nepal to enhance the country’s healthcare system.
