KATHMANDU: Opposition parties in the House of Representatives (HoR) have registered a proposal of urgent public importance at the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
The proposal seeks to initiate a formal parliamentary discussion on the sustainable management and rehabilitation of genuine landless settlers.
The motion was officially submitted today in accordance with Rule 71 of the House of Representatives Regulations, 2026.
According to the Parliament Secretariat, the proposal highlights the urgent need for legislative deliberation regarding the protection and long-term rehabilitation of landless populations, emphasizing that any actions must align with the constitution, national law, and human rights standards.
The proposal was introduced by Bhishma Raj Angdembe, a leader from the main opposition party, the Nepali Congress.
It was formally seconded by Ain Bahadur Mahar of the CPN (UML), Yubaraj Dulal of the Nepal Communist Party, and Aren Rai of the Shram Sanskriti Party.
