Dozens of SSPs transferred; Kathmandu and Lalitpur get new chiefs

KATHMANDU: The Government of Nepal, Ministry of Home Affairs, Nepal Police Headquarters, has officially executed a sweeping administrative reshuffle through the mass transfer and strategic placement of Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs).

According to official dispatch number 6346 issued by the Human Resource Development Department’s Personnel Administration Branch, dated June 1, dozens of high-ranking police officers have been reassigned to various critical departments, provincial offices, training centers, and district ranges across the nation.

The extensive operational adjustments, mark a significant reorganization within the top tiers of the country’s security architecture.

Under the new district command shifts, major leadership changes have taken effect in the Kathmandu Valley.

According to the transfer list, the police chiefs of Kathmandu and Lalitpur have been replaced. Dilip Ghimire has been brought into the District Police Range, Kathmandu. Ghimire was previously working in the Human Resource Development Department at the Police Headquarters.

Meanwhile, Kathmandu’s SSP Ramesh Thapa has been transferred to the Research, Planning, and Development Directorate at the Police Headquarters.

Tul Bahadur Karki has been brought into the Lalitpur Range. Hobindra Bogati, who was working in Lalitpur, has been transferred to the Highway Security and Traffic Management Division at the Police Headquarters.

Additionally, Subas Chandra Bohara has been posted as the chief of the Drug Control Bureau.
