KATHMANDU: The Nepali Army has reshuffled nearly two dozen senior officers, transferring 20 Brigadier Generals in a major round of transfers that took effect from today.

According to the transfer list signed by Colonel Thakur Thapa of the Organisation and Staffing Directorate at Army Headquarters, the changes affect key command, training, intelligence, welfare and administrative positions across the force.

Under the transfer, Brigadier General Manoj Baidwar has been transferred from the Directorate of Army Welfare to the Mid-West Division Headquarters, while Brigadier General Prakash Bahadur Chand has moved from the Nepal Army Academy to the North-West Division Headquarters.

Among other transfers, Brigadier General Ram Kaji Thapa has been transferred from the Directorate of Military Intelligence to the Eastern Division Headquarters.

Brigadier General Shravan Kumar Bista has been appointed Acting Chief Instructor at the Nepal Army Battle School, while Brigadier General Narayan Bahadur Thapa has been assigned as Acting Director of the Directorate of Army Welfare.

Brigadier General Bal Krishna Karki has been transferred from the National Security Council Secretariat to the Nepal Army War College, while Brigadier General Bobby Chand has been transferred Acting Director of the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI).

The reshuffle also includes the transfer of Brigadier General Suresh Hamal to the National Security Council Secretariat, Brigadier General Dil Bikram Subba to the Nepal Army Academy as Acting Chief Instructor, Brigadier General Dipendra Gurung as Acting Commandant of the Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre, and Brigadier General Anup Bikram Rana as Acting Commander of the Special Forces Brigade.

Other transfers include Brigadier General Arjun Basnet as Acting Administrative Registrar of Birendra Military Hospital, Brigadier General Bimal Raj Sharma to the Kathmandu Valley Division Headquarters, Brigadier General Dibakar Bikram Rana as Acting Director of the Directorate of Peace Operations, and Brigadier General Bimal Kumar Basnet to the National Security Council Secretariat.

In addition, Brigadier General Ashok Bahadur Chand has been appointed Acting Director of the Directorate of VIP Security, Brigadier General Sanjay Kumar Ranjit as Acting Director of the National Service Corps, Brigadier General Ujjal Thapa as Acting Commander of No. 27 Brigade Headquarters, Brigadier General Sudhir Pratap Singh as Acting Commander of No. 24 Brigade Headquarters, and Brigadier General Harish Bahadur Bam as Acting Commander of No. 2 Brigade Headquarters.

Meanwhile, Colonel Surya Bahadur Thapa, previously serving at No. 5 Brigade Headquarters, has been transferred to No. 18 Brigade Headquarters to serve as Acting Brigade Commander.
