KATHMANDU: A vehicle en route from Kathmandu to Mustang via Pokhara and the Nepal–China northern Korala border met with an accident early this morning.
The Toyota Hiace jeep (registration number Ga 1 Cha 2255) went out of control and crashed on a sloped road about one kilometer south of the Korala checkpoint area.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bheshraj Giri of the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 33 Gulm, the vehicle was carrying five passengers including the driver when the accident occurred.
The injured driver has been identified as 31-year-old Nagmin Subba of Tarkeshwar Municipality–5, Tokha, Kathmandu. He was rescued from the site by the Armed Police Force and is being taken to Jomsom Hospital for treatment.
Authorities said the vehicle lost control near the Korala area, resulting in the crash on a steep section of the road.
