KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has officially announced the national cricket squad for the upcoming Asian Games Qualifier tournament, which is scheduled to take place from 31 May to 9 June 2026 in Singapore.
This high-stakes tournament will see teams battle for a spot in the main event, with only the top four teams qualifying for the 2026 Asian Games.
According to the player list released by CAN, regular vice-captain and all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee has been selected to lead the team as captain for this crucial qualifying campaign.
The squad features a balanced mix of experienced and young players, viewed as a strategic combination to secure qualification in Singapore.
The rest of the team includes regular captain Rohit Paudel, alongside Kushal Bhurtel, Sandeep Lamichhane, Aasif Sheikh, Sher Malla, Sundeep Jora, Nandan Yadav, Kushal Malla, Aarif Sheikh, Lokesh Bam, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, and Shahab Alam.
According to the association, the Nepali team will commence their closed-camp training shortly, with the ultimate goal of delivering an outstanding performance to secure their ticket to the Asian Games and bring pride to the nation.
