KATHMANDU: Nepal has secured qualification for the men’s cricket competition at the upcoming Asian Games after results in the qualifying tournament confirmed its place.

Nepal advanced after Malaysia defeated China by nine wickets today at Singapore National Cricket Ground, Singapore, ensuring both Nepal and Malaysia finish among the top two teams in their group.

China’s second straight defeat ended its qualification hopes, while Nepal and Malaysia have already secured progression to the Asian Games. The two sides will now meet on Thursday to decide the group winner.

Nepal had strengthened its qualification chances earlier with a commanding 221-run victory over China in its opening match.
