KATHMANDU: Nepal has been set a target of 306 runs by Oman in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 match being played on Wednesday at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Oman posted a competitive total of 305 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs, powered by a brilliant century from captain and opener Jatinder Singh, who scored 130 runs off 96 balls, hitting 15 fours and 5 sixes.
Other contributors for Oman included Aasish Odedara with 23 runs, Hamad Mirza with 30, Aryan Bisht with 35, Jiten Ramanandi with 43, Vinayak Shukla with 23, while Wasim Ali remained unbeaten on 10.
In response, Nepal made a cautious start but lost Kushal Bhurtel early for just 1 run. After 5 overs, Nepal were 26 for 1. Aasif Sheikh was batting on 15 runs, while Bhim Sarki was on 8 runs at the crease.
For Nepal, Sompal Kami led the bowling attack with 4 wickets, while Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee took 2 wickets each.
