KATHMANDU: The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kathmandu extended congratulations to mountaineer Kristin Harila and her team for successfully summiting Mount Everest last week, alongside completing the prestigious ‘Triple Crown’ in Himalayan climbing.

In a single climbing season, Harila summited Nuptse (7,861 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), and Mount Everest (8,849 m), marking a historic achievement. She has become the first woman to complete this demanding sequence in one season and the first Norwegian to summit Everest without supplementary oxygen.

The Embassy highlighted the accomplishment as a significant milestone in high-altitude mountaineering. A photo from the occasion featured Norway’s Ambassador to Nepal Dagny Mjøs alongside Harila and members of her team.
